Watercolour and pencil
70x28cms Unframed
Many years ago I wrote a children’s book called Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was about a small sausage dog named Rex that discovers the dinosaur exhibition at the local museum. Every dog’s dream. Bones as big as buses! I penciled it all out, made a dummy book and did this and another full colour illustration to sell the idea but sadly I couldn’t find a publisher. It was a bit out there.
This is the bit just after Rex chews at the ankle bone of the tyrannosaurus skeleton causing it to sway and then buckle, breaking apart, hitting the next dinosaur that then creates a dino-dominos catastrophe that results in the whole exhibit of fossils crashing and cascading down the corridors and out into the surrounding suburbs. Much to the surprise and delight of the town’s dogs.
There is a smug in the upper left sky. Cant fix it. I airbrushed in watercolour. What was I thinking?
